September 5

Cowboy welded today. And burnt his nerfies. That's what he gets for welding upside down in the wheel wells. I know it amused Wild Bill, our awesome neighbor. Please note, Wild Bill, not so wild. It's just more fun than plain Bill.

On a more serious note, he filled all the small holes where the trim was and attached the new skins to the wheel wells, he patched the side marker light holes all the way around and I got to paint the inside of the front fenders.

September 3

Lots of work on the Monte. Rear quarters came off, wired up the stereo system, dashboard is in, FatMat is laid in the trunk and the interior.

Soldering wires

Quarter panel off and the Cowboy found some more amazing body work by the previous guy. He used duct tape as the back for his bondo. No wonder it's rusted out in the wheel wells.

Duct tape patches are a no-no.

More chunky bondo. This just makes me sick to my stomach. I'm hoping this is the last of it.

Pre-patching.

After patching.

The view from one wheel well to the other.

I joked with Cowboy that it looks like she got new pants.

August 20th

Inside patching and seam sealing is done. Perfect day to paint the inside of the car.

August 18

Busy day for the Cowboy. Rewrapping wiring, fitting the dashboard, pulling the windshield.

August 17

And it goes vroooommm!

What I don't have pictures of is the Cowboy and the eldest untangling the wiring harness in the garage and working to get it installed so they could start the car.

With all of the cars, one of my favorite things is when we start the engine for the first time. For the Cowboy though, to him, it's Christmas.
